Aim: To introduce participants to the field of working with eating disorders and/or disordered eating. To support them to feel equipped to understand an overview of these issues and be able to have a strong foundation of understanding for more advanced training in this area.Learning Outcomes: To understand and be able to identify warning signs that someone may be experiencing disordered eating/eating disorder? To understand the serious medical and psychological risks these conditions present and how to navigate them? To understand best treatment approaches and have a general understanding of practical tools to use with clients experiencing these issues? To feel equipped to support carers of someone with an eating disorder? To have an overview of the research that informs how we understand people’s relationship with food? To provide a reflective opportunity on how diet culture and society expectations impact these issues

PD completed on eating disorders, binge eating disorder, intuitive eating, trauma and eating disorders etc.Experience working as an eating disorders counsellor in private practice and with The Butterfly FoundationSupervisor of counselling and psychology interns working with disordered eating/eating disordersPast lecturer for a Graduate Diploma in Counselling.
