Hello! I’m Abigail (or Abi). I am a dedicated Creative Arts Therapist with a passion for supporting people of all ages to find meaning and connection through the use of dance and movement. With a rich background in aged care, disability support, and experience working with children and teenagers, I bring nearly 2 years’ professional experience as a Creative Arts Therapist in both individual and group facilitation settings.
As a lifelong artist involved in dance, drama, ceramics and painting, I bring a range of creative skills to my practice, alongside experience as a dance educator and choreographer. I hold a Bachelor of Psychological Science and a Master of Creative Arts Therapy, and am registered with the Australian and New Zealand Creative Arts Therapies Association (ANZACATA) and the Australian Counselling Association (ACA).
My approach is deeply rooted in strengths-based methodologies, emphasizing the mind-body connection and taking a holistic view of individuals and their unique experiences. I believe in the transformative power of creative expression and integrate techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and trauma-sensitive practices to foster healing and growth.
