Director of Desert Minds Pty Ltd, Amanda Marston has practised continuously as a Psychotherapist / Counsellor since 1994 in the United Kingdom, and from 2006 in Australia.
Following 12 years in the UK, working with Family & Domestic Violence in Crisis & Support Centres around the Bristol area, Amanda brought her extensive counselling experience to Australia.
Amanda joined Centrecare in Western Australia as a member of the Clinical Leadership Team, then in 2015 relocated to the Northern Territory as Regional Manager for local Employee Assistance Program provider, EASA; in both roles, travelling broadly to provide therapeutic support to remote workers in government, NGOs and NFPs, onsite in remote Aboriginal communities and in regional centres around WA and the Territory.
Amanda is also an EMDRAA-registered & accredited Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapist, NMAS-accredited Mediator, and Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, registered with the federal Attorney General & Justice Department.
Amanda established her private practice Desert Minds Pty Ltd in Alice Springs in May 2020, to continue providing ethical, affordable counselling support with keen local insight and understanding of the unique challenges faced by people living and working in Central Australia.
