Angela Heathwood

Angela has been a qualified counsellor since 2002 she has worked as a school counsellor; in Catholic social welfare and she has been a bereavement specialist counsellor in NSW public health facilities for 10 years. Specialising in child and adolescent counselling, Angela has provided training programs to allied health professionals, medical students, social workers and teachers.After moving to the Blue Mountains NSW in 2021, she has taken up a part time role as a school counsellor.As well as being a proficient grief counsellor, Angela has broad experience as a generalist counsellor, working with anxiety, depression, managing major life transitions and meaning reconstruction after trauma.In working with children and young people she utilises strengths based modalities and developmental psychology.Angela is a member of the International Society of Sandplay Therapists, she works with very young children as well as teenagers and adults.In addition to counselling qualifications, she holds a double degree in education and music from UNSW.
