Ladder of Life Counselling was first registered as a business in Mackay, Queensland in June 2018, however  Chantal closed its doors in 2019 due to her daughter's diagnosis of Diabetes Mellitus. Since then, Chantal became a school chaplain in a primary school and worked with children and families for 4 years providing emotional and social support. In 2023, Chantal returned to studying to begin a Bachelor of Applied Social Science with a Major in Counselling and is currently in her second year of studies, whilst working as a support worker in residential care. Chantal first became a member of the ACA in 2018, and intends to reregister and reopen her business, Ladder of Life Counselling Service in the near future.
