About Me
I am a trauma-informed, attachment theory focused person-centred counsellor. My qualifications include a Diploma and a Graduate Diploma of Counselling, and I am currently undertaking a Master of Psychotherapy and Counselling.
I started my career in the health industry as a pharmacist, back in Brazil, but as a result of my immigration and own personal transformational journey, I realised that working as a pharmacist was no longer aligned with who I was becoming.
In needing to re-start my personal and professional life from zero as well as find my own answers, strengths, and soul stamina, I became increasingly interested in the many different dimensions of healing, and progressively disenchanted with compounding and dispensing medicines.
Ultimately this interest led me to a total career change. I now work as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist, supporting women to restore power, wellbeing and purpose in their lives – one conversation at a time.
About my therapeutic approach
I’m trained in a counselling & psychotherapy approach that is primarily person-centred (humanistic) and informed by knowledge of human development and attachment theory - with understandings of the brain and based in trauma-informed and recovery-oriented practice.
- I have learned about influences of temperament, environment and personality on individuals.
- I understand there are a range of ways to diagnose and/or respond to client presentations and experiences.
- Through specialist training in listening, relating and communication skills, I provide a reparative experience and a secure base for clients to grow and address current and past issues.
