I am a level 2 member of the Australian Counselling
Association (ACA) and a graduate member of the Australian Association of Social
Workers (AASW). I am from a culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD)
community who pursued my passion in psychology, counselling and social work and
thus, completed postgraduate degrees (with distinction) on these areas in a forward-thinking university on the western side of Sydney, NSW.
I am inclined towards a humanistic approach and
predominantly use person-centered counselling, strength-based approach and
trauma-informed care practice dealing with my clients. I value establishing a
therapeutic relationship with strong foundation on 'trust' and creating a safe
and non-judgmental space for my clients where they are allowed to be vulnerable
and authentic so they can explore themselves and understand the roots of their
wellbeing or mental health issues. This, then, leads to a path towards recovery
(a lifelong journey of growth and self-discovery).
As a counsellor, I am a human myself, so I connect through
it with my clients. As Irvin Yalom wrote in one of his books: 'Therapist and
patients are fellow travelers', both simply human, all too human. I am also guided with my Christian, family and community-oriented values in this precious work I do.
I am currently running an online private practice and do phone counselling volunteer work outside of business hours. If you prefer to do face-to-face counselling, I am available every Saturday at a clinic in Cabramatta (I will give more details once you reached out). I continue to undertake professional development and is supervised by a wonderful and seasoned counsellor. I am grateful to be of service to
anyone who needs help (people who are at a rock bottom), those who fall
through the cracks, or wore down from the 'controlling nature' of the 'system'.
Feel free to reach out to me. Let's
talk. Keep it simple. Be you. Be free.
