Introducing
DAVID W PETERS
COUNSELLOR, FAMILY DISPUTE RESOLUTION PRACTITIONER, HYPNOTHERAPIST
With over 30 years of experience advocating directly for Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) communities, and as a descendant of a Waappa Burra man and a Kalkadoon woman, David offers deep insight and understanding into the issues affecting these communities.
His extensive counselling experience, coupled with his work as a Family Dispute Practitioner, has allowed him to work with numerous families and individuals from diverse ethnic as well as white Australian backgrounds.
Dave's strong legal background has made him extremely valuable to many legal staff and organisations, particularly in providing support in the areas of domestic and family violence, family law, child protection, child safety, and criminal compensation. He has worked directly with clients and external agencies to provide professional, sensitive, and responsive services. Dave has years of experience counselling children and troubled teens from all cultural backgrounds.
He is a passionate, conscientious, and confident lateral thinker with strong professional ethics and a wealth of background experience, as well as solid qualifications in his field. As a proud Father and Grandfather, he is dedicated to advocating for the rights of the child as well as the abused.
Dave also utilises hypnotherapy in his counselling practice as needed and possesses a vast and expansive skill set in his areas of specialisation including NLP.
Counselling services are available both online and face-to-face. Dave is currently living in Queensland and is available for travel throughout Australia.
