Hello! I'm Dean, and I'm passionate about supporting the wellbeing of children, adolescents and adults. For the past five years, I've been dedicated to working within primary education and am currently the Head of Counselling and Wellbeing at an independent school. Additionally, I am the Director of Animo Wellbeing Services, where I provide counselling to children and adults, supporting them in areas such as anxiety, grief and loss, emotional regulation, stress management, and personal issues.
I hold a Degree in Psychological Science from La Trobe University and a Masters in Counselling from Monash University. My main focus is on helping children and young adolescents, but I have the privilege of working with individuals of all ages.
In my sessions, I use techniques like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to create a supportive and effective therapeutic environment. My areas of interest include anxiety, emotional regulation, anger management, grief and loss and neurodiversity.
I am deeply committed to providing care and support to the youth, as I believe they are our future. I strive to create a warm and welcoming space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to navigate life's challenges.
Feel free to reach out to me at Animo Wellbeing Services for support or just a friendly chat. I look forward to connecting with you!
