Deborah Banks BAppSocSci(Couns), M.A.C.A. (Level 4) is a trauma informed counsellor, psychotherapist and clinical supervisor with ten years experience post qualification. She is a level 4 clinical member of the Australian Counselling Association and an accredited mental health practitioner. Prior to opening her first private practice in 2016, Deborah was the CEO and counsellor of Lou’s Place, a daytime refuge for women in Kings Cross. She was a council member of the Corrective Services NSW Women’s Advisory Council and has held positions on the boards of Domestic Violence NSW and the Mental Health Coordinating Council. Deborah is an integrative counsellor who draws on a range of therapeutic approaches to meet couples and individuals at their point of need including, but not limited to: Gottman Method and Imago theory (couples); three phase trauma therapy; trauma counselling; sensorimotor/somatic psychotherapy; and DBT skills. She specialises in supporting individuals who have been subjected to domestic violence.
