Participated in numerous overseas deployments to both international and national locations. To help others after both natural disasters and armed conflict. The NSW Justice department (12 years), enabled me to work with those in our community, who have made poor choices: due to addiction, mental health or anti-social support networks, that affected the community, family, and themselves. By utilising CBT, ACT and MI with an underlying emphasis person-focused therapy, in both group and face to face settings. More recently employed as a recovery and rehabilitation case manager, supporting those with complex mental health issues to remain in the community. By focusing on inclusion, empowerment, and development of a strong support network.I enjoy giving back to the community as a volunteer with organisations, including the SES, participating in several sever road crash rescues, swift water rescues and general rescue situations and MS Australia as a peer’s support coordinator supporting caregivers of those who suffer the degenerative condition. As a counsellor, I support those struggling to reconnect with their family and community due to trauma, isolation and self-identification. Assist those who have issues including management of emotion, behaviour issues such as aggression and domestic abuse. Uplifting caregivers to enable them to remain compassionate and encouraged while support other less fortunate.
