Kia Ora/Hello,I am a Ngapuhi woman from my mothers people - Maori/Welsh and Maori/French/Irish from my fathers people in Aotearoa/New Zealand. I am known and use my Indigenous name Whakapaipai/Gorgeous.Korero/Yarning/Talking has been instrumental throughout both my personal and professional life - a journey of self reflective practice, continued learning and an ongoing curiosity to explore. My educational journey started with a Diploma in Community Welfare, then Bachelor of Social Work and a Masters of Counselling. The richness of my own cultural ethnicity has provided me the gift of journeying through Australian Indigenous & Torres Strait Islander, CALD/Multicultural and Mainstream pathways. The ongoing priviledge to work alongside those gifted survivors, individuals/groups who are seeking to connect, develop, recover to a more fulfilling life, resonates for the purpose to serve humbly.
