My path to becoming a counsellor wasn't traditional. I spent over two decades navigating the arts and its interplay with the corporate world, ultimately leading teams of creatives to provide positive outcomes for businesses through design and marketing - all the while balancing and exploring my own creativity and relationship with the diverse people involved in each projects.
This experience honed my listening skills, igniting a passion for understanding the human experience and facilitating a growth mindset - working with people in ways that were laden with meaningful, empathetic understanding.
Concurrently my own medical and emotional journey with chronic health issues and chronic pain inspired a curiosity in me to deeply explore the aspects of human suffering and the possibility to use this to create a more meaningful life - how was this possible? Completing a Master of Counselling I honed my skills and curiosities into researching the optimal therapies and modalities to assist those coping with chronic health issues and chronic pain - to live a life that is meaningful and rich. Through a person-centered and ACT framework work I work alongside clients to explore the biological, social and psychological aspects of their lived experience in a compassionate and safe space.
Further, I have the privilege to work alongside
clients managing dysautonomia, POTS (Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome), and EDS (Ehlers Danlos syndrome).
