I seek to understand your perspective and deeper feelings, to meet you where you are at, and engage with you as a whole person. I guide you to identify and explore underlying causes of your pain and frustrations, giving you the tools you need to help you work through the issues you bring to counselling, and enabling you to find your way forward
As well as general counselling, I have a particular interest in working with grief, loss and bereavement, including unacknowledged grief that may be felt around issues such as relationship breakdown, pregnancy loss, pet loss, empty nest syndrome, carer responsibilities, and social isolation. Many of us are carrying grief. You may be experiencing grief from current life events, or from past events that you haven’t had the opportunity to fully work through.
Whatever you bring to your counselling session, I work with you in a gentle, intuitive and empathetic way. I use modern counselling techniques (Person-Centred Therapy; Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), combined with techniques drawn from my spiritual practices (Buddhist meditation; energetic therapy) and my somatic training (Alexander Technique).
Using this combination of techniques, I create a holistic counselling approach, encompassing mind, body and spirit. This approach supports you to find a sense of wellness, purpose, joy, connection and calm.
