I earned my Bachelor of Arts (Psychology and Counselling) through Edith Cowan University, Western Australia, a Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) and my Master’s in Professional Psychology, both through Central Queensland University.Professionally, I have worked as a Community Migrant Advocate, which involved supporting newly arrived migrants to settle in and become active members of the community. This included one on one assistance with a range of issues, such as family and domestic violence, adjusting to their new life, linking clients in with social opportunities to decrease social isolation as well as English classes, and also coordinating group activities.I have also been involved with the Karratha Women’s Place, since the organisation began, first in a voluntary role and now as an employee where I am offering up to three free counselling sessions to support women with their mental health.
