The decision to seek counselling is one of the most important decisions you will ever make. I hope that by sharing a bit of my professional and personal journey with you, it might make your process of deciding to engage in counselling a little easier. I was born in the Illawara region in Wollongong, NSW. From a young age I always enjoyed helping others and had an interest in how the human mind and our behaviour works. Following this interest, I decided to become a Counsellor and completed a BA majoring in Psychology and a Masters of Counselling.I have numerous years’ experience as a counsellor working with adults and adolescence, where I have enjoyed helping people find a fresh perspective on where they are in life, where they want to go, and how to get there. In this time, I have helped people manage their anxiety, panic disorders, depression, grief, domestic violence, stress and anger management, addictions, relationship issues, suicide and self-harm prevention. By working together, my goal, as a counsellor, is to help you find your inner strengths and coping skills to overcome any barriers to live a balanced and fulfilling lifestyle. My approach is to enable you to identify what needs to happen or change in your life for you to move forward in your life while working towards realistic goals. As a counsellor my main focus is to individualise my counselling approach based on your needs, using a combination of modalities such as person centred, acceptance therapy, motivational interviewing and solution focused strengths based counselling. I look forward to working with you and helping you reach your goals to have a more fulfilling life.“One day, in retrospect, the years of struggle will strike you as the most beautiful.” – Sigmund Freud
