Joanne McCarthy has a Masters of Counselling & Psychotherapy Degree, BA Psychology (Hons.), BA Children and Family Studies from Edith Cowan University, Perth in conjunction with Facilitator/Trainer credentials that include – Safe and Together Model, Caring Dads Program, and Drumbeat Program. She has spent the past 15 years working with individuals, couples, families and vulnerable women and children that have experienced domestic violence and/or childhood trauma. She has Professional Certificates in Understanding, Assessing and Responding to Childhood Trauma as well as a Post-Graduate Certification in Domestic Violence. Joanne has also worked in EAP counselling services which has exposed her to counselling people with relationship issues, anxiety, employment issues and complex family dynamics. Her approach is to provide person-centred therapy by using holistic and research-based techniques to meet your unique needs. She also practices ‘trauma-informed counselling,’ which embraces a message of hope & optimism that recovery is possible. Located in Perth WA, her services are available via ZOOM or Phone sessions.
