I am a registered counsellor with the Australian Counselling
Association (Level 2). My counselling qualifications include a Diploma of
Counselling (Uniting Institute of Education) and a Graduate Diploma in
Counselling (UNE).
I have experience in private practice and community-based
services. My area of specialization and passion is couples and relationship
counselling. I strive to support loving, respectful, and sustainable
relationships in all their diversity. I am trauma informed and support mental
health wellbeing and resilience. I use evidence-based therapies to enrich
relationships and encourage compassionate communication and connection. I see
individuals and couples for relationship support across life changes and
situations.
I have training in Gottman Method Level 1 and Level 2 for
couples and relationship counselling. I have training in Family Systems
therapy, Emotion Focused therapy for couples, and domestic and family violence
training. I utilize techniques from Narrative therapy, Acceptance and
Commitment therapy (ACT) and Somatic Therapy to assist self and relational
awareness and relieve distress. I work with young adult and adult clients to
navigate emotional and relational issues.
I appreciate that clients have varying goals, so my sessions
are client-centered, and my approach is collaborative and integrative. I bring
warmth, compassion and lived experience to my work.
In my spare time, I value my family life, enjoy being outdoors, appreciate a good
laugh and the colorful antics of my dogs.
