I specialise in counselling individuals, families, children and youth. I support children who have experienced trauma and have complex issues, including DHS and court referrals. I also provide counselling to children living with a parent or sibling with a mental illness or disability. Issues include Family violence Self-esteem General Parenting Anger management Anxiety Childhood abuse Relationships Grief and Loss Depression and mental health issues Separation or divorce Bullying Family therapy Conflict resolution I work closely with parents to help facilitate change within their family relationships. Working from a strengths based model I assist parents to draw on skills they already have to encourage positive change and more meaningful relationships with their children. Education and Training I have a Bachelor of Applied Social Science in Counseling from the Australian College of Applied Psychology and am a member of Australian Counselling Association. Further to this I have facilitated skill education in schools, therapeutic children’s groups and parenting after separation programs. I maintain a keen interest in the neuroscience underlying social interaction and relationships and I completed The Neuroscience of Relationships and the Social Brain workshop delivered by Pieter Rossouw. As a Child Consultant I am trained in child inclusive mediation and adolescent/parent mediation. I continue to undergo professional development in psychotherapies and child focused interventions.
