Working with empathy, sensitivity and respect, Judith practises from her office which is situated in Redland Bay, Queensland. She also supports clients by way distance mode (local, regional, interstate, international) using Skype, Zoom, telephone, or FaceTime. She has been counselling for forty years, supervising practising clinicians for twenty years, and has diverse experience in working with people from many different backgrounds and life experiences.Her areas of speciality are professional supervision, supervision of supervision, and counselling and psychotherapy to support those who are experiecing loss and grieving, stress, impact of caregiving, chronic pain, anxiety and trauma. Judith is also a behaviour consultant and life coach.Before a career change in 2000, Judith worked in the field of education. For some 40 years, she taught across primary, secondary, and tertiary sectors, was a counsellor and behaviour consultant, and was co-writer in development of the first national curriculum documents. She was also Principal of primary schools that served children living in locations designated as “socio-economic disadvantage”.Judith is wife of Des, mother of Megan and Jason, and grandmother of Angelique, Rose, Lachlan and Maximillian – four amazing grandchildren who keep her grounded. For fun and social connection Judith dabbles in the creative arts of spinning, weaving, pottery, and clay sculpture.Judith brings an holistic and eclectic approach to Counselling practice, incorporating a variety of therapeutic strategies that support the healing of life stresses and the growth of calmness in the midst of the realities of everyday chaos.Some of the strategies used by Judith include Reality Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Expressive Therapies such as Sandtray and Interactive Drawing Therapy, Relaxation Therapy and Meditation, Tapping, Mindfulness, and Solution-Oriented Hypnotherapy.Judith is an honorary life member of Australian Counselling Association, is Vice President of the Board of Directors, Chair of Complaints Tribunal, and also a member of the College of Counselling Supervisors, College of Clinical Counsellors, and College of Christian Counsellors.
