Dr Tilling is an Australian trained experienced therapist who uses a holistic person-centred approach. She is a Clinical Member and a Registered Counsellor of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA). Dr Tilling has over 20 years of experience working with people of all ages providing support in many clinical settings such as large companies, private practices, schools, and university settings. She is also a trained and registered clinical supervisor (ACA) supporting a range of therapists across different domains in counselling such as psychologists, chaplains, school counsellors, social workers, mental health nurses, PhD research students, and psychologists.
She provides a non-judgmental safe space for adults, couples, kids, and families to improve their emotional health and well-being. She is passionate about helping women and mothers with their everyday life challenges and has a special interest in helping professionals working in the corporate and entrepreneurial space. She uses a biopsychosocial approach focusing on the biological, psychological/emotional, and social aspects of the whole person to improve emotional health. She supports clients on a broad range of issues including depression, anxiety, eating disorders, grief, adjustments, substance and behavioural addictions, parenting, mid-life crisis, and relationships.
Dr Tilling’s therapeutic approach is integrative, and person-centered, drawing on evidence- based approaches like Acceptance and Commitment Theory (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, narrative therapy, mindfulness/meditation, existential therapy, feminist therapy, to meet her clients' individual needs.
In addition to her education and experience in counselling, Dr Tilling has a wealth of higher education experience lecturing, writing curriculum and clinically supervising in the fields of counselling and psychology. Over the years Dr Tilling has been an active contributor to articles for several academic journals, books, national newspapers, and online posts.
Dr Tilling’s passion has always been to assist people to embrace their strengths, weaknesses, and diversity. She has travelled the world extensively, lived in Italy and the UK in the past, and currently lives in tropical Queensland, Australia. As a mother of 2 grown-up children and having had a career in the corporate and the higher education sectors enables her to understand issues relating to work-life balance, performance, work dynamics, supporting leadership development, goal setting, and other personal/family challenges.
