I am often referred to as a woman with unconventional teaching experience, pedagogic training, and what many would call, an infectious laugh.Currently, my area of focus has been "Self-care". Personally gone through vicarious trauma, burn-out, and fatigue myself, I have realised the importance of Self-care and the need for it on a day-to-day basis.  Over the years of experience and knowledge that I gained from doing the course in counselling, I have developed an insight into this and have realized it requires more attention in order to support professionals, especially teachers. I would also like to extend this understanding to parents.  I am looking at creating awareness and more understanding of self-care and its significance in our lives.  Born and brought up in Chennai, India, my formal education includes Graduation in Zoology, Post Graduation in Psychology, Post Graduate Diploma in Special Education, Guidance and Counselling, Environment Education, Pre and Primary Teacher Training from India and Educational Leadership & Management from London College of Business Sciences.    For the past 23 years, I have worked in the field of education - alternative schooling, children with disabilities, underprivileged children. I have also worked as an Educational Consultant and Teacher Trainer. Other than this I also love to travel, cycle, watch movies, and listen to music. I have had 2 years of training in Indian Classical music – singing and violin [Carnatic]. I am currently learning ‘Vedic Chanting’ and ‘Yoga Sutra’.
