I am an experienced and empathetic counsellor specialising in working with children and adolescents. As an accredited member of the Australian Counselling Association, I am committed to providing a safe, creative, and supportive environment where young people can explore their emotions, develop resilience, and overcome challenges.
I hold a Bachelor’s in Visual Art, a Master’s in Counselling, a Certificate 3 in Community Services and a Certificate IV In Disability. My approach is grounded in evidence-based practices and enriched by the use of creative therapies such as Play Therapy, Art Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. These modalities empower children and adolescents to express themselves in ways that feel natural and engaging, particularly when verbal communication may be challenging.
I specialise in supporting young clients and families with a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, behavioural challenges, low self-esteem, self-harming, eating disorders, domestic and family violence and difficulties in family or peer relationships. I also have expertise in addressing trauma, utilising trauma-informed care and expressive therapies to help children process difficult experiences safely and constructively.
One of my key strengths is my ability to tailor interventions to suit the developmental stage, personality, and unique needs of each person. By incorporating creative therapies, I foster an environment where clients can explore their feelings through art, storytelling, music, or play, allowing them to communicate in ways that words alone cannot capture. This approach not only facilitates emotional expression but also encourages problem-solving, self-awareness, and positive coping strategies.
Collaboration with families, schools, and other support networks is central to my practice. Recognising the importance of a holistic approach, I work closely with the families, parents and caregivers to strengthen family dynamics and ensure the strategies used in therapy can be reinforced in everyday life. I also liaise with teachers and school counsellors and other services and organisations when appropriate, supporting academic and social success.
As an ACA-accredited counsellor, I am dedicated to maintaining the highest ethical standards and ensuring confidentiality in all aspects of my work. I regularly engage in professional development to stay current with the latest research and therapeutic techniques, ensuring the best possible outcomes for my clients.
I am passionate about helping individuals discover their strengths, build confidence, and thrive. Whether through creative expression or structured therapeutic approaches, I empower my clients to navigate life’s challenges with resilience, self-awareness, and hope for the future.
