Biography: Lorri Yasenik Ph.D., RSW, RFM, RPT-S, CPT-S is the Director of Rocky Mountain Play Therapy Institute in Calgary, Alberta Canada and the Co-director of the International Centre for Children and Family Law in Australia/Canada. Lorri is a Registered and Certified Supervisor of Child Psychotherapy and Play Therapy and delivers certified training programs nationally and internationally in the areas of child and play therapy and child inclusive practice. Lorri is on the Deakin University (AU) Advisory Board for Therapeutic Play and Child Play Masters Degree Program and she is has an Honorary Fellowship with Deakin University. Lorri is the recent past president for the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts Alberta Chapter and the past President of the Alberta Family Mediation Society. She is a Registered Family Mediator, and Registered Parenting Coordinator-Arbitrator. Her areas of expertise are in the fields of separation and divorce, child centered mediation/parenting coordination, treatment of trauma, family violence, adjustment, and the spectrum of children’ s mental health problems. Post Voice of the Child Research, Lorri has co-developed the program Meeting with Children: A Child Centred Approach for practitioners work in the family law sector and who wish to include children in their practice.
