Hello, my name is Lydia Morgan and I am a dedicated and empathetic counsellor, proud to be a member of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA).My natural disposition is one of a caring and kind nature. My personal qualities that I demonstrate include my warm and caring sense of responsibility to people especially to those that are suffering or in distress. I have excellent communication and active listening skills which enable me to really understand and support individuals and help people in improving their own health and wellbeing.I have years of experience in the counselling and disability field, my passion lies in supporting individuals from all walks of life and developing a rich, safe and nonjudgemental platform for people to reach out and feel heard, listened to and supported from a warm and caring counsellor utilising a person-centred approach to counselling, i.e. you are the expert in your own life.I am committed to providing a supportive and culturally sensitive space for clients to explore their personal growth and well-being.I have completed my Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling at Deakin University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management at Manchester Metropolitan University and my undergraduate degree from the National University of Ireland, Galway in which I obtained a 2.1 honours degree in Economics and Social Studies.Professional Development & Checks includes:Lifeline's Domestic Violence Response CertificationNDIS Worker Screening CheckNational Police CheckWorking With Children CheckExperience: Throughout my many years in counselling and disability support work, I've had the privilege of working with diverse communities, including adolescents, people with disabilities and their families, with aged care clients, people suffering with chronic pain, school refusers, trauma, depression, anxiety, bereavement, and loss, etc...My professional journey includes valuable experiences in the local high school and in private counselling practice.
