Marc has a master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and is a registered counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association. He focuses on the evidence-informed treatment of stress disorders in emergency services personnel (paramedic, police, fire, medical, nursing, emergency medical dispatchers, etc.) and in spiritual and religious trauma. His therapeutic approach is based on the Hakomi method, somatic therapy, parts therapy, and the use of EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing). Marc has also been a practicing Zen Buddhist since 1986 and is in training to become a Zen teacher. He is completing a diploma in Chaplaincy, and he is involved in teaching mindfulness meditation to inmates in Queensland.Marc is also a registered paramedic with over 33 years of experience in clinical practice, senior management, and academia, and recently retired as a Senior Lecturer in paramedicine. He was a Canadian Critical Care Paramedic (Australian Retrievalist Practitioner) and has published and presented original research in paramedicine.
