"What made me become a counsellor is my interest in people and their stories. I believe we all have stories that are important to acknowledge, reflect upon and learn from. As much as I truly believe we are all the experts in our own lives, we all sometimes need to share our stories with someone. It is my privilege to support individuals as they continue to write their own story."
I believe a good therapeutic relationship is about creating a safe space based on empathy and respect, and I relate to my clients in a non-judgmental, supportive, and positive way. I use a holistic foundation, person-centred framework, and eclectic approach that enable me to develop a unique, creative, inclusive, and practical approach with each client. I have experience working with clients with a variety of presenting issues from a broad range of backgrounds and cultures in the corporate, private, higher educational, psychiatric, and not-for-profit sector in Australia and Europe - both as a counsellor and as a non-counsellor. I work with individuals, have an extensive interest in cultural diversity, transnational counselling, and reducing stigma around mental illness, and I am fluent in Swedish.
