Registered Counsellor
Melanie Young
Languages Spoken:
I counsel in the person-centred tradition, an overarching approach based on the belief that all people have the desire and the capacity to grow towards fulfilling their potential. In this context, challenge, pain and struggle are viewed as normal elements of human experience, and hence, I work to support people to uncover and develop personal strengths to meet the challenges of life in active and empowered ways. Fundamentally, I help people who are trying to find their place in the world, and who are trying to make life work better for them. To facilitate this, we may work on increasing your insight, self-acceptance, and life skills, and building your confidence to pursue your values-driven life direction. Alongside being a professional counsellor, I have a background in art and design. As such, I am able to integrate visual modes or exploration alongside the verbal.I currently see clients via Zoom and phone. Please get in touch if you feel we may be a good fit.
