Michelle is currently undertaking a Masters of Arts in Therapeutic Practice at MIECAT Institute and is in her third year in 2024.Michelle works with NDIS clients offering counselling support using her many skills, which are weaved into her practice.Michelle has worked in a special development school with children with disabilites, delivering a range of support for individual needs. Offering some mindfulness techniques to install balance and calmness, working in a play based way with materials that help with the development of trauma and intellectural disabilty.Michelle has been working in schools for over 15 years, where she has been a school counsellor mental health practioner, chaplain and yoga and mindfulness teacher, delivering wellbeing programs,mindfulness program, friendship groups, social skills groups, parent groups, and support for teaching staff. Michelle has worked with all year levels from the kinder groups to Year 12 as well as delivering a Wellbeing Program remotely during Coviid 19.Michelle has been working as a Mental Health Cousellor for ONPSYCH for over 7 years and uses her skills as a counsellor, arts and play therapist, and support worker to help clients that have different abilities in their homes, out in the community and in schools.Michelle is able to utilise her skills and create strategies to support her clients and empower them through the creative arts expression.With a background as a Yoga & Mindfulness Teacher, Therapeutic Arts Counsellor, Disabiliy Support Worker, Advocate and Mentor, Michelle is able to draw on her experience to create a toolkit for each individual on their journey with her.Michelle's own personal expereinces have created a canvas of knowledge, wisdom and creativity to help you travel along your path and unlock your hidden treasures.Michelle has experience in seperated families, helping clients with multiple and complex needs within the disability, mental health, kinder, primary and secondary education settings, family violence, incarceration, trauma and child protection. Michelle has experience with ADHD/ASD clients and supports their journey through strategies and tools.Working with families and clients on the NDIS to identify their strengths and find a balance in their busy lives, to establish routine and strategies.Michelle has worked online via Zoom, WebEx and Skype during the past two years delivering a service that is engaging, interactive and most of all fun for all ages groups.
