I am a registered counsellor with a compassionate, warm and dedicated approach. Generally, my counselling approach is client centred focused and strengths-based, focused on listening and responding to the client’s story. I am very motivated to support and encourage people to achieve their goals. This includes planning the possibilities for goal setting and action planning. My approach to counselling is gentle, compassionate, interest oriented and gently challenging as well as attuned to what is happening for the client in the present moment. My values are based on the importance of creating a safe, cooperative and judgement-free space for clients to explore what is important to them. I have an interest in assisting people achieve happier and more fulfilling lives. I have experience working with adults, children, adolescents and couples experiencing a range of difficulties including PTSD, stress, depression, anxiety, substance dependence, grief and loss, trauma, domestic violence, sexual assault, chronic conditions, work stress and bullying.I have worked as a counsellor in a variety of settings, including domestic violence, sexual assault, drug and alcohol, mental health as well as providing psychological consultancy services for Employee Assistance Program providers.I use a range of evidence-based techniques including Acceptance and Commitments Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) including Cognitive Trauma Therapy for Battered Women (CTT-BW), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Mindfulness, Trauma Informative, Trauma Narrative and Trauma Focused therapy.Private health rebates are available through the following health funds:      Bupa Medibank Private  Police Health fund
