Monika Schofield

Monika is a post-graduate qualified and experienced counsellor who uses an integrative and holistic approach.
Her broad-ranging career includes experience in: public sector policy development, project management, Parliamentary research, facilitation, conciliation (in the area of Anti-Discrimination), and disability advocacy.
She has also worked as a Family Relationships Counsellor, and Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) Counsellor.
Monika's lived experience as a carer has provided personal insight around the complexities of the medical diagnostic journey, early intervention approaches, NDIS system, Health and Education systems, and employment support.
Monika has an interest in neurodivergence, neurodiversity affirming approaches, and drawing on social-ecological models of disability in particular. She is also interested in the areas of animal assisted therapies and expressive therapies as tools for emotional regulation, alternative communication, and general wellbeing.
The creation of Phoenix Therapy & Inclusion represents a natural progression and integration of the above experiences, qualifications and interests. Ultimately. Monika seeks to foster a mutually respectful, safe therapeutic environment, which supports positive transformation, growth and healing, at both an individual and systemic level.
