I take a contextural, collaborative approach to counselling. My aim is to honour each client’s individual circumstances and needs while helping them navigate the various challenges that they encounter. I can support people who are dealing with:· Anxiety· Intergenerational difficulties, particularly between first-, second- and third-generation migrants/settlers· Racism-related difficulties· Gender identity/discovery/affirmation· Coming out or questioning their sexuality· Relationship issues, especially non-traditional relationship structures (e.g. polyamory, ethical non-monogamy, relationship anarchy, etc.)· Grief (including pet death)· Difficult decisions I do not believe there is one single approach that will suit everyone. Instead, I think it is vital to work with each client to discover what will best support them. This is what makes the process of counselling collaborative – I do not advise or direct. Rather, I help you to figure out what is right for you in your unique context. I focus on your strengths, your abilities, your resources, and ways of helping you build these to match your needs.
