Olga Lucia Henao Urrego

Lucia is an accredited bilingual (English and Spanish) counsellor member of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA), and the Australian Association of Cognitive and Behavioural Therapy (AACBT). Lucia holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Sydney, Major in Psychology; and has attained a Masters in Clinical Counselling from the Australian Catholic University. Lucia works with adults and young people who have experienced traumatic experiences such as Domestic Violence, Parental separation, and Homelessness. Lucia has worked with children in Foster Care, adults and families experiencing homelessness in crisis accomodation centres. Implementing therapeutic techniques from different approaches, Lucia tailors treatment according to the individual needs. From Cancer Survivorship, Homelessness, to Depression and Anxiety, Lucia uses a person centred approach first and foremost to help people ease their emotional pain. Trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, Lucia also has an interest in Psychodynamic approaches such as Getstalt therapy. Besides having worked with people from different stages and walks in life, Lucia also has collaborated in research studies in a Research Assistance capacity at a Psychology lab of the University of Sydney focusing on projects within Social and Cognitive Psychology.
