Samar is a registered counselor level 4 with the ACA, a registered NDIS behaviour support practitioner, and a certified Interplay play therapist and child-centered play therapist. Samar has over 15 years of experience in several roles across government, non-government organisations, and private sectors. Samar is very experienced and passionate about helping individuals of all ages, and she particularly enjoys working with children and their families. Samar supports positive change in children and families through play. She believes all children have the right to be safe, happy, loved, nurtured, and understood. Samar encourages the development of skills and strategies which strengthen the child and family's capacity to develop and maintain positive relationships. She has a strong interest in play therapy and reflects warmth and empathy when working with children and their caregivers. Samar's professional skills, training, and qualifications are broad ranging from Bachelor and Graduate Diplomas in Social Science (Psychology and Counselling); she has training in Mental Health, Trauma Informed Practice, Complex Trauma and Attachment Management, and evidence-based Behavioral therapies. Samar is trained in Motivational Interviewing, Mental health First Aid, Suicide prevention, Accredited Trainer in Positive Parenting Program (Triple P), and the Domestic Violence Alert Program.
