Sayaka has a strong interest in cultivating culturally responsive and accessible practices in her work and in the wider mental health industry. Sayaka cultivates strong therapeutic relationships with clients from different age groups, cultural and neurodivergent backgrounds through using collaborative intersectional frameworks and maintaining authenticity, empathy, and curiosity in the counselling space with a focus on CBT, ACT, Schema Therapy and more, using multiple modalities as and when needed by her clients.Sayaka's counselling style is as directive or as flexible as you need. She believes everyone is unique due to their individual life experiences, which means that a cookie-cutter approach won’t cut it for most clients. She believes that everyone deserves to thrive – whatever that looks like for them – and that unlocking self-awareness regarding their strengths, values, relationships and areas for improvement are excellent first steps in the right direction.
