Hi, I'm Sharalyn, a registered Counsellor and Supervisor with lots of professional and life experience who is committed to helping my clients turn life challenges into life changing opportunities. I've been working in this field for the past 15 years with clients who are wanting to live more positive and fulfilling lives. With a Master of Arts, I have also trained in the USA as a Certified Sex Addiction Specialist and Betrayal Trauma Certified Clinical Partner Specialist.  I also hold qualifications in Clinical Pastoral Counselling and Drug and Alcohol Work. I have worked in a number of leading Sydney hospitals working with clients covering a large range of issues from addiction to trauma and abuse, to helping clients address problems caused by those general life issues we all confront from time to time. I also help clients who are struggling with problems such as relationship issues, grief, loss, depression and anxiety, and issues related to aging and life transitions. I can also help you explore those more existential questions around spiritual issues and life meaning. Papers I  presented at the ANZ Addictions Conference, titled "Sex Addiction: The Silent Addiction" was published in Counselling Australia journal (2017) along with "Betrayal Trauma – Working with Partners of Sex addicts" (2018).  "Resistance to Resilience: Addiction, Co-dependency and Doing Life Differently" was published in Perspectives on Coping and Resilience, Authorspress, 2013. (These are available to read on my website).  I understand the process of change and the challenges inherent in that process. That is why at ARISE Counselling Solutions you are offered a very supportive and highly confidential environment. Some of the ways counseling can help are to: • Clarify areas of uncertainty • Identify and help resolve troublesome issues • Explore and develop your potential • Provide support and understanding in times of change and uncertainty • Develop resources for problem solving • Help develop skills to better manage life\'s challenges Appreciating that it can be hard to talk to someone new about difficult or sensitive things, I will work with you to understand your situation and help develop a way forward specific to your unique situation. It doesn’t hurt to talk, and sometimes it helps to be seen and heard.  QUALIFICATION DETAILS Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts (Public Theology) where my focus was on addiction and spirituality, International Institute Trauma Addiction Professionals Certified Sex Addiction Therapist, Association Partners Sex Addiction Trauma Specialists Certified Clinical Partner Specialist, Cert IV Pastoral Counselling, Cert IV Alcohol and Other Drugs Work, Trained in Radical Exposure Therapy (advanced), Interactive Drawing Therapy and Family Constellation work.  Professional Training Addiction Rehabilitation SPP, CPE Trained.
