Solaris (they/them), also known as Sunny or Sol, is a Level 2 Registered Counsellor who is passionate about providing holistic and client-centred support that empowers the individuals and communities they work with. Sol's practice is based on the values of collaboration, connection, trust, transparency, safety, and 'walking with/alongside' (rather than 'working on').Since graduating from their studies, Sunny has primarily worked in triage and counselling roles in the not-for-profit and NGO mental health sectors, particularly in youth mental health. Sol's counselling style is warm and gentle; their work is person-centred and trauma-informed, focusing on the therapeutic relationship and creating a safe space with people.Sunny is enthusiastic about working holistically and pluralistically, with their eclectic-based practice drawing from a range of evidence-based therapies, including Person-Centred Therapy (PCT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Constructionist and Systemic Therapies. Currently, Solaris is undertaking further studies and is not able to provide counselling services during this time.
