My approach to counselling is one of trust, respect, safety, collaboration, curiosity, compassion and empathy. I have a psychology/counselling degree from Edith Cowan University as well as a Certificate IV in Mental Health. I have worked for two NGOs for the past 9 years working with people with severe and persistent mental health issues with people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures.I am especially interested in working with people suffering from Borderline Personality Disorder. In 2015, I completed Dialectical Behaviour Therapy training. In 2014, I received a fellowship from SANE Australia enabling me to research and study Borderline Personality Disorder and mindfullness in the UK, USA and Canada. As well, I provide Couples Counselling. I was trained at William Street Therapy Centre in Mount Lawley, Western Australia. I enjoy working with couples helping them find different communication styles with their partner with a focus on conflict resolution.I also work in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and can help clients with depression and anxiety, lifestyles issues and facilitating change, work related issues and grief and loss.I have a holistic approach to mental and physical health helping people understand and recognise ongoing themes in their life. This includes awareness around links and patterns of past and present behaviour, and how the mind and body interact,.which can enhance personal growth and self-empowerment.
