Supriya Khanijou (Priya), founder of AusWellBeing, is a certified mental health counsellor, lecturer, researcher and a yoga instructor.Priya was born and raised in Thailand to a Indian-Sikh household a part of a close-knit community. She attended international school and grew up with a blend of eastern and western cultural values and perspectives. Priya migrated to Australia in 2012 to complete her first undergraduate degree, Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Queensland; she also holds her second undergraduate degree, Bachelor of Science in Psychology, from Chulalongkorn University in Thailand.After a year of working in a Bangkok-based children and adolescent’s psychiatry clinic, Priya returned to Australia and completed her tertiary education with a Master of Counselling degree from Monash University in 2018.She is currently an academic lecturer and unit coordinator for the Youth Mental Health Program at the University of Melbourne, and the discipline of counselling at Australian College of Applied Psychology. She has plans of continuing her studies on to a Doctorate degree. Among her academic achievements, Priya also explored her interest in mind-body connection by completing her World Yoga Alliance certified 300 hr teacher training in Hatha and Yin Yoga.In her sessions, Priya brings her personal experience of being a counsellor, practitioner, educator, yogi, carer and a migrant. She is known for her warmth, empathy, positivity and unwavering commitment to her clients.
