Tanya Hicks is a dedicated counsellor, award-winning community leader, and founder of Neurodivergent Empowered. As an autistic woman, Tanya brings lived experience, empathy, and expertise to her work, empowering neurodivergent individuals to embrace their authentic selves and thrive in a world not always designed for their unique brains and bodies.

Through her counselling practice, Tanya offers a neurodivergent-affirming approach, weaving mindfulness, self-compassion, and practical tools into her sessions. She specialises in supporting individuals navigating challenges related to autism, ADHD, emotional regulation, and co-occurring conditions such as POTS, EDS, and PMDD. Tanya’s mission is to inspire, educate, and empower 1 million autistic and ADHD individuals to live lives of authentic joy and connection.

Tanya incorporates cutting-edge techniques, including mindfulness-based strategies, emotional empowerment tools, and insights from neuroscience. With a focus on acceptance and nervous system nourishment, she helps her clients build self-awareness, self-compassion, and strategies tailored to their needs. Her approach includes practical support for challenges such as managing time, building healthy routines, and improving relational skills.

Tanya is passionate about creating inclusive, affirming spaces where her clients feel seen, heard, and valued. As the founder of Neurodivergent Empowered and its sister organisation, Sparkly Aliens Inc., she champions community connection and leadership, providing innovative programs for children, teens, and adults.

Tanya’s work has earned her numerous accolades, including the 2024 AusMumpreneur Overcoming the Odds Award and the Beam Awards Community Leader of the Year. She continues to advocate for positive autistic identification, empowerment, and belonging through her counselling, writing, and leadership.
