I take a compassionate and curious approach to working with clients who struggle with ultra-processed food addiction, binge eating, disordered eating, other addictions and complex trauma. I work in a trauma-informed, Internal Family Systems informed and person centred way. Our work together will depend on what your goals are. Many clients are embarking on their recovery journey and are seeking relief from very acute addictive behaviours. Others are seeking longer-term psychotherapy to heal the wounds underlying those addictions. I'm based in Sydney, Australia and currently see clients online via zoom.
My special area is ultra-processed food addiction, because that was the first addiction that forced me into recovery. I have MA in Counselling (UNE), am a certified food addiction counsellor (INFACT), and pursues courses, supervision and personal therapy specific to Internal Family Systems. I'm influenced by my own recovery journey, and my work is underpinned by the principle of “do your own work”, which means I'm engaged in my own therapy and draw on somatic and other healing modalities so that I can best support you. I'm also a passionate advocate for raising awareness of ultra-processed food addiction and complex trauma, and breaking the associated stigma. I collaborate with organisations such as SANE Australia and the Blue Knot Foundation by sharing my lived experience publicly. I would be honoured to accompany you on your journey.
