I was born and grew up in Japan. I have lived in Australia for 23 years. I was trained as a person-centred counsellor in Japan, and completed an Australian counselling diploma course. I am currently employed full-time as a community mental health support worker, helping people live independently with mental illnesses and mental health issues. Training completed so far include: Diploma of Counselling, Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors; Australian National Crisis Supporter Core Training; ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training); MHFA (Mental Health First Aid) Training; and ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy) Mindfully Training. Counsellor Training Course, Personal Growth and Counselling Center, Japan Lutheran College & Seminary; and Bachelor Degree in Human Development and Education, University of the Air, Japan As a NAATI-accredited professional translator and former simultaneous interpreter, I can provide counselling service to both Japanese-speaking and English-speaking clients. Areas of specialisation include: Relationships, depression, existential crisis (questions about reason of being), demotivation, anxiety and confidence issues, mindfulness coaching, cultural adjustment, intercultural relationships and assertiveness training.
