Zoe Hedges
is a qualified Counsellor with extensive training in evidence-based therapeutic
practices. With a solid academic background and 20 years of practical experience
Zoe is inspired to support individuals,
families, and communities navigate the complexities of mental health and
emotional well-being.
Zoe’s
personal style is considerate, respectful and collaborative creating a safe
space for clients to explore and manage the challenges of life. Drawing on her
international experience and qualifications in psychology and counselling, Zoe
integrates her knowledge of solution focussed therapy, motivational
interviewing, CBT, systems theory, mindfulness and expressive therapies to help
clients find their unique solutions. A strong advocate for social justice her
research has focussed on Autism in adults, but she also works with autistic
children and is considered a child development specialist. She strives for work
life balance employing resilience developing self-care and emotional agility strategies
to cultivate well-being. Her work is underpinned by a dedication to the growth
and empowerment of those she works with.
Zoe brings a wealth of experience from her
diverse background in both non-governmental organisations and the private
sector. Zoe spent several years helping parents navigate the complexities of
early childhood and parenting including specialist training through COPE (The Centre for Perinatal excellence). She has specialist knowledge and experience
working with autistic and neurodivergent clients. Her extensive experience in
disability support services and integrative interdisciplinary approach with a
range of health professionals enabled Zoe to support both children and parents
in achieving optimal outcomes.
Zoe has run Grief and Loss programs in schools.
Providing emotional support, fostering resilience, and guiding young
people and adults through difficult transitions such as the loss of a loved
one, family changes, or other life-altering events. Zoe’s work in this area is
deeply rooted in her belief in the importance of emotional agility.
Zoe has worked with violence and trauma and is aware of the impact
of intergenerational trauma that runs through families and influences intra and
inter relational patterns of behaviour and thought.
