40-hour Clinical Supervision Course

This 40-hour accredited and endorsed supervision course is a well-developed, interactive, and engaging learning experience that is based in best practice standards. The full training meets the criteria for registration as a supervisor with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA).
The course will support the development of skills, knowledge, and current training standards with emphasis on the supervisor’s self-awareness and cultural responsiveness. The course will introduce supervision models as well as understanding how to work in different modes (in-person and telehealth). The course will include lectures, set readings, assessments tasks and engaging activities, such as group discussion, role plays, and practice dyads.

- Develop cultural responsiveness and self-awareness in practice
- Provide a theoretical knowledge and practical skills to work effectively with supervisees
- Understand ethical practice working in multiple modalities (face-to-face and telehealth)

Presenter Qualifications:
Susan is an author, academic, researcher and practicing psychologist. The focus of her PhD was on counsellor education and supervision, which underpins this supervisor training course. She has taught counselling and supervision for more than 20 years in Hong Kong, US, and Australia.
Maxine has been a counsellor and supervisor for 30 years. She has taught counselling and supervision for the past ten years and her Master of Research thesis was on supervision. She was a Board member of the Australasian Association of Supervision 2005-2022, supporting the development of the profession in Australasia.
