Expressive Therapy Clinic offers a unique opportunity for health care professionals to participate in a self-paced 10 session program specifically designed for clients of all ages who experience  ADHD symptoms. The adding of DBT Skills that are focused on addressing emotional dysregulation, impulsive control and inattention, which are often the most difficult symptoms of ADHD, are taught in this program. Manual and handouts included and videos of 10 sessions. (Optional creative exercises are also added and no talent is required). As an Art Psychotherapist as well as a Counsellor and DBT Consultant over the last 20 years I have found that learning skills both verbally and non-verbally can be an advantage for clients.  The knowledge gained is especially helpful for Health Care Professionals, Teachers, School Counsellors, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Counsellors, Art therapists, support workers, students and people interested in gaining more skills to increase general wellness for themselves and for others they work with.

Presenter Qualifications:

Megan Shiell is passionate about the way Dialectical Behaviour Therapy can assist sufferers of emotional dysregulation. Over the past 12 year she has trained over 2,000 clinicians in the use of DBT and also in the use of DBT alongside an experiential therapy Art Therapy. Megan has presented both in Australia, and Internationally on the subject of DBT and its uses in mental health arenas and has published her work in DBT and Art Therapy in the ANZATA Journal 2008. Megan has written a chapter in a book titled “DBT-Informed Art Therapy in Practice” edited by Susan M. Clark to be published in 2020. Megan conducts some Face to Face intensive DBT training programs for organizations in her region of Northern NSW and SE Queensland. Her passion is to train as many Clinicians as possible in how to assist their clients using DBT alone and alongside other evidenced based therapies for all clients who have difficulties managing their emotions, impulse control and anxiety and depression.This is why she has developed this 10 session ADHD and DBT self-paced online course for clinicians to do at the own pace and to be able to refer back to this material whenever they wish. An evaluation is required at the end of the training in order to receive a 'Certificate of Participation' for PD purposes.
