Have you ever tried to change your own behaviour or another person’s behaviour but have not been completely successful in doing so? If yes … you are not alone as we ALL fall into this categoryAt FABIC, we support people to understand and change their own or other’s unwanted behaviours through the simple, effective and evidence-based 3-step approach, the Body Life Skills (BLS) Program. The practical Body Life Skills Program developed and presented by Tanya Curtis, is a tool available for all people to approach lasting behaviour change no matter the person’s age, background, capacity or what their behaviours look like. Behaviours come in many forms, including but not limited to meltdowns, crying, self-harm, physical aggression, food bingeing, social withdrawal, addiction, stealing … in fact any behaviour that communicates a person is away from feeling settled and at ease with life. The BLS program brings focus understanding to the factors surrounding a person’s unwanted behaviours and seeks to understand what the behaviours are communicating always with a focus on WHY the behaviours are occurring. This one-day presentation workshop will present a simple and practical 3-step process that has been implemented at FABIC since 2006 to support countless people of all ages, capacity and behaviour challenges to first understand the reason behind unwanted behaviours, and then develop the skills and tools to implement new behaviours leading to more preferred outcomes in life.
