The science of the who, what, where, when, why and how of every FABIC poster is discussed, supporting successful implementation in a person’s natural settings and thus maximising opportunities for LASTING behaviour change. Each one of the 53 FABIC posters is a standalone behavioural intervention. It may look like a simple two-dimensional poster, but in reality it comes with a science founded on the FABIC principles of understanding and bringing LASTING behaviour change which is essential to every counsellor. To integrate them successfully it is important to understand the science. To support the successful use and integration of these posters in a person’s natural setting/s – their intended use – a client and/or their support team require an understanding of why and how to implement the posters, daily and practically. And this requires an explanation of the science and practicalities that support successful behaviour change strategies via the introduction of the FABIC Posters. We have put together 34 online meetings to cover every single poster that is part of the FABIC Poster Collection. These online meetings are essential for every counsellor if they want to truly evolve and develop.

In life we are all presented with many situations. Some of them we perceive we are equipped torespond to while others we may still be reacting to.This chart offers another version of the I CHOOSE CHART and demonstrates different naturalconsequences that may occur as a result of the choices we make.Life presents many situations; some we can influence and change and others we cannotinfluence or change.Rarely do we ask the question, ‘Can I change this life situation?’ Often we spend a lot of time andeffort attempting to change something that is totally out of our control, resulting in guaranteedanxiety and thus a lesser quality of life. For example: Have you ever spent time trying to persuade someone to change their behaviours, words, thoughts or feelings? If we are honest we could all answer yes to this one. If we were to askthe question, ‘Can I change this person who is using actions, words, thoughts or feelings (LIFE)I don’t like?’ the answer is clearly no. It is not possible to change another person’s behaviours, words, thoughts and/or feelings. Nonetheless, often we do focus our attention on attemptingthe impossible, thus guaranteeing anxiety and likely non-preferred behaviours, words, thoughtsand/or feelings. These online meetings are essential for every counsellor if they want to truly evolve and develop. This poster can be used as a simple map, highlighting the choices available when life presentsto us a situation we find challenging, The first question to answer honestly (which can be hardat times) is, ‘Can I change this life situation?’This chart is discussed in more detail in Book 3 of the BODY LIFE SKILLS series.
