Core Skills in Family Therapy Course provides the opportunity for health professionals interested in family therapy to gain skills and for more experienced clinicians to further develop their competence in systemic family therapy. This eLearning training is offered as either 6 stand-alone modules or as a discounted course combining all 6 modules. Each module provides a theoretical overview of family therapy practice guidelines and an introduction to contemporary family therapy models. Modules include self-directed learning tasks, readings, quizzes and access to online video examples

The emphasis in the 6 modules on systemic family therapy is on the acquisition of knowledge, skills and attitudes that are relevant to high-quality family intervention practices. A strong theoretical framework underpins the modules. Students will be introduced to the core ideas and skills of family theory and review the major models of contemporary family therapy. The course is suitable for health and welfare professionals who currently work or intend to work with families.

Presenter Qualifications:

Christine Senediak BA (Hons), M Psychol (Clin), M Family Therapy

Christine Senediak is Director of Sydney Family Therapy Training Institute (SFTTI) based in Sydney, Australia, a subsidiary of Clinical Supervision Services. She has over 40 years of experience working as a clinical psychologist, family therapist, educator and supervisor and has worked both in the public and private health systems specializing in working with children, adolescents and their families and specialist Cross Cultural Services and the Children’s Court Clinic. She provides supervision to addiction services, adolescent mental health inpatient and outpatient services, adult mental health and family support services.

Other contributors to the program include: Dr Glenn Larner (Clinical Psychologist) and Andrea Worth (Snr Social Worker) , who both have extensive experience working, supervising  and teaching family therapy and in child and adolescent mental health services.

Andrea Worth is a Snr Social Worker who has worked with children and adolescents for over 25 years. She has a wealth of expereince working in the hospital and school settings.
