Identifying and responding to sexual violence presentations is critically important in providing appropriate trauma informed care and responses to victim-survivors, and to prevent further harm and re-victimisation. Sexual violence in the context of family violence is a serious and prevalent issue that impacts the health, wellbeing, and safety of millions of Australians, especially women and children. Sexual violence against women and children is an insidious form of family violence that can have serious and lasting consequences for victim-survivors, their families, and communities. WHO: This online training course is suitable for family violence workers as well as social workers, support workers, case workers, front line responders, emergency services (police, child protection and hospital staff etc), and telehealth services working with clients in a range of human service delivery sectors.

Identifying & Responding to Adult Sexual Violence and Child Sexual Abuse in Family & Domestic Violence Presentations DATE: Thursday 3 October 2024 WORKSHOP AIMS: • Explore gaps in knowledge about adult (SA) and child sexual assault (CSA) in the context of family and domestic violence • Assist in increasing practitioner confidence in screening and identification practices • Screening based skill building – asking the right questions by using questions that are evidence-based, and culturally appropriate in a safe and confidential manner • Skill professionals in identifying and sensitively responding to presentations of sexual violence and child sexual abuse
