The ‘Peaceful Kids’ program is a Mindfulness and Positive Psychology based program to lessen anxiety and stress and increase resilience in children from Prep through to Year 12. This program helps children to build their emotional resilience, so they are better equipped to deal with the day to day stresses that life brings them. Â The Peaceful Kids program can be run in schools, organisations, hospitals and in private practice by teachers, wellbeing leaders, counsellors, psychologists, school nurses, chaplains, social workers and wellbeing practitioners.

Day 1: Â ‘Peaceful Classrooms’ – Mindfulness Meditation Training. Â This is a full day of introduction to Mindfulness Meditation skills and activities for children and teens.

Day 2:  ‘Peaceful Kids’ – Facilitator Training. This is a full day of Peaceful Kids facilitator training.  Once you are trained as a Peaceful Kids Facilitator, you can facilitate the 8 week Peaceful Kids program (1 hour each week) for a small group of primary aged or secondary school children who are feeling anxious, stressed or who have poor resilience.
Content:
Day 1: Â ‘Peaceful Classrooms’ – Mindfulness Meditation Training.
This is a full day of Mindfulness Meditation training covering:
• Practical and easy to learn Mindfulness Meditations
• Simple background theory and scientifically proven benefits of Mindfulness
• How Mindfulness helps anxious and stressed students
• How to train other staff members or children in Mindfulness techniques
• A range of simple yet powerful techniques that staff can implement immediately
• Creative approaches to incorporating Mindfulness into a school setting
• Links between anxiety, stress and Mindfulness for both adults and children
• How to create their own daily Mindfulness practice to reduce their own stress levels
• Full electronic resources to use immediately in classrooms
• Mindfulness applications in the Peaceful Kids program
Day 2: Â ‘Peaceful Kids’ – Facilitator Training
This is a full day of Peaceful Kids facilitator training covering
• Understanding anxiety in children
• How to support children with anxiety through the Peaceful Kids program
• Hands on activities to thoroughly understand the Peaceful Kids weekly program to confidentially lead a small of group of c children
• Identifying children for the program
• Using Mindfulness Meditations exercises with children
• Using Positive Psychology exercises with children
• Engaging parents throughout the program for successful outcomes
• Leading a parent information session on anxiety and the Peaceful Kids program

Georgina Manning is the Director of Wellbeing for Kids and a Counsellor and Psychotherapist. Georgina has many years of experience working in schools supporting children and parents to reach effective social and emotional outcomes. Georgina runs regular parent seminars in schools, school professional development days for educators, and is a National speaker for wellbeing events. Georgina has created the ‘Peaceful Kids’ and ‘Peaceful Parents’ Mindfulness and Positive Psychology programs and holds training for school staff and mental health professionals across many states in Australia. Georgina has most recently created the first ‘Certificate in Mindfulness & Wellbeing for Children’ training program in Australia.
